Rushikonda beach is located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal and is also called as Jewel of the East Coast. Rushikonda beach is the best place for water sports lovers, here we can perform water sports like swimming, water skiing, Kayaking, windsurfing..etc. it’s a good place to enjoy yourself with friends & family.
Rushikonda beach is situated 8 km from Vizag city, a popular beach of Vizag that attracts a large number of tourists as well as the locals here. This place is a favorite for water sports lovers because of the range of activities that are offered here.
Thotlakonda is located 16 km from Visakhapatnam. It’s a Buddhist complex situated at the top of a hill. The Thotlakonda hill is about 128 meters above sea level and was identified as the Hinayana Buddhist complex.
To set up a Naval base, the Indian Navy conducted an aerial survey. During the survey, The Thotlakonda hill was found. Andhra Pradesh state Archeology department conducted major excavations during 1988-1993. By the excavations, they found the Hinayana Buddhist complex on top of the hill, and its existence was very old. There is a water tank on the hill, it serves water to the inhabitants on the hill.

The RamaNaidu Studio is located on the top of a hill and offers a mesmerizing view of the ocean. Dr. D. Ramanaidu, the owner of this film studio. It is located 20Kms away from Visakhapatnam towards Bheemili. It takes 25 to 30mins to ride from Visakhapatnam.
The view from the top of the hill is very beautiful. A wide view of Sea Beach can be seen from here. At the top of the hill, we can see the Museum of Cinema, Buildings, Shops, and Road lanes. The Buildings and shops are constructed artificially for shooting purposes only. Once upon a time, the buildings and areas were very good. But the maintenance of the Ramanaidu studio is very poor now.
In the Museum of cinema, we can see old equipment for movie production. Visitors are allowed into the museum to see all the equipment but photography is not allowed.

Bheemili is also known as Bheemunipatnam. Bheemunipatnam is located about 29 km from Visakhapatnam city. Bheemili is famous for beaches, fishing, and old cemeteries.
There are two ways to reach Bhimili from Vizag, one is via Madhurawada and another one is via Rushikonda beach road, its beach road. The road journey from R K Beach to Bheemili was amazing. It’s a beachside road with a distance of around 30 KM.
The Bheemili town contains one of the oldest Christian cemeteries & Dutch settlements on the coast. British and Dutch settlements were built in the 17th century. In Bheemili town, you can see the oldest lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1868 during Dutch settlement on the shores of Bheemili Beach. River Gosthani meets here in Bheemili beach.
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park is located amidst Seethakonda Reserve Forest covering an area of 625 acres in the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. It is surrounded by beautiful and scenic hills of Eastern Ghats on three sides and the Bay of Bengal on the fourth side.
Being a Large category Zoo recognized by the Central Zoo Authority it houses around 850 numbers of animals like mammals, carnivores, lesser carnivores, canids, ungulates, reptiles, birds, and butterflies belonging to 123 species in a natural ambiance.
This place is also home to many free-ranging animals and birds owing to its existence in a forest area close to Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary.
It is open to the public daily except Monday.
Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary has located around 6km from the city center in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary is a large forest reserve covering an area of 17000 acres.
It’s a good place for adventure trips like trekking and camping. Here you can see animals, mammals, birds, and flowers…etc.
Tenneti park is a beautiful and scenic park situated on Beach Road near Kailasagiri hills. It’s an urban park and the oldest park in the Vizag. Earlier it’s a children’s park.

VUDA Park is a city park near RK Beach in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh operated by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).
The total area of this park is about 55 acres. VUDA Park is a good place for families with children. This park attracts children by offering facilities such as boating, swimming, horse riding, and outdoor games.

The INS Kurusura submarine museum at RK beach is the first submarine turned into a museum in the whole of Asia and second in the world. INS Kursura was a submarine of the Indian Navy. India’s fourth submarine. Kursura was commissioned on 18 December 1969 and was decommissioned on 27 February 2001 after 31 years of service. She participated in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, where INS Kurusura played a key role in patrol missions.
After decommissioning, the INS Kurusura submarine was preserved as a museum for public access from 24 August 2002 at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam. Kursura stands out as one of the few underwater museums that still retains its unique character and was named by Visakhapatnam “must-see”.The submarine INS Kurusura is attracting more and more tourists.

The Aircraft Museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. It is located at RK beach and opposite to the Submarine Museum. The Aircraft Tupolev Tu-142 is preserved in this museum, This is an Indian Navy Aircraft that served 30 years and had 30,000 hrs of accident-free flying of its retirement on 29 March 2017 at INS rajali Arakkonam.
After decommissioning, the government of Andhra Pradesh decided to preserve this aircraft in a museum and was opened to visitors for tourism development purposes.it is inaugurated by President of India Ram Nath Kovind in December 2017. This became one more major tourist attraction in the RK Beach Area.
